Looking for date ideas in Nashville? These Nashville date night ideas are some of my favorites around town.
I can’t believe it’s officially been one year since I’ve been in Nashville. My first year in Nashville has felt like both a very long time and the blink of an eye. Lots has happened since then, and this year already feels like it’s moving at lightning speed. I accepted a new job, Alex and I signed a lease and are getting ready to move into our first apartment together (!) and he finished his degree that he went back for and graduated.
Since I’ve been in Nashville, I’ve had plenty of time to explore all the good date spots (shoutout to Alex for taking me on all of these dates). I get so many questions from people visiting and friends in town about restaurants, bars and things to do in Nashville, so I figured I’d share a few of my favorite spots.
Did your favorite Nashville date spot make the list? Share it in the comments below!
1. Candle Bar
This is my favorite date spot in Nashville. (And just one of my favorite spots in general. I take my mom here every time she’s in town, she’s obsessed.) Think those paint-and-wine places—except instead of going home with an ugly drunk-painted canvas, you get an amazing candle. The studio itself is super cute and BYOB, so you can bring along a bottle of wine or champagne. You each get to pick out your “vessel” and scent before they guide you through mixing and pouring your own candle. This is a great pre-dinner activity, and you get to take something home that reminds you of the occasion.
2. Topgolf
Clearly, we love an activity. Topgolf just opened in Nashville two summers ago and is a fun, low-key date spot with a full food and drink menu—great for double dates or birthday parties, too. They also have a music venue at this location, The Cowan, so check out the concert schedule and book a bay a couple of hours before to hit a few balls and have a few drinks before the show.
3. Drinks at Urban Cowboy
This bed and breakfast is one of the most Instagrammable spots in Nashville. It’s the only other location besides Brooklyn, and the one in Nashville just recently opened their bar and kitchen Public House to, well, the public. Celebrating an anniversary or a birthday? Book a staycation to stay overnight in this eight-bedroom boutique hotel built in an old Victorian house in East Nashville.
4. Dinner at Taco Mamacita and drinks at Old Glory
Just dinner and drinks, but this one holds a special place in my heart because it was my first date with my boyfriend Alex. Taco Mamacita is a cute and yummy neighborhood Mexican restaurant in Edgehill. Their menu is huge (they even have a full-page vegan menu), plus they’ve got great drinks and delish homemade chips and salsa. Grab cocktails after at the hidden bar next door Old Glory, which is in the old boiler room for White Way Cleaners, one of the biggest steam cleaning facilities in Nashville. It’s super urban and the perfect date-night vibe.
5. Drinks at Attaboy
If you’re like me and can never decide what to order off the cocktail menu, Attaboy is a cool “secret” speakeasy, also in East Nashville. You walk up to an unmarked door and are instructed to lightly knock. Someone will answer the door and bring you inside. Once you’re seated, simply tell your server what kind of cocktail you’re in the mood for. They take that and custom mix a drink just for you. My vibe is usually prosecco and citrus. Alex likes a slightly sweet old fashioned without the bitters. Attaboy never disappoints and the drinks always go down way too fast.
6. Dinner at Folk
If you’re always down to try trendy new restaurants in town, make a reservation at Folk, the sister restaurant of Rolf & Daughters. We went there with our friends Carly and Nick on New Year’s Eve and loved all of the pizzas and cocktails. I’m still talking about how good the beets were—and I don’t even love beets that much.
7. Arrington Vineyards
This was also one of my favorite dates I’ve been on in Nashville. Head there on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for the picnic tasting and free live music (Music in the Vines runs every weekend April through October). For $14, you’ll get four 2-ounce wine samples served with tasting notes and wine crackers. You can buy snacks (like cheese and crackers or charcuterie) inside or bring your own, and sip at the picnic tables on the lawn of the vineyard. Find a bottle you love? You can buy it inside and take it home for later. Cheers!
