Hi, friends! It’s been a minute since we talked about my favorite brunch spots in Chicago, but I wanted to hop over with a big life update: I’m moving to Nashville!
If you know how much I love Nashville (and my Nashville boyfriend, Alex), this may not come as much of a surprise. After almost two years of long distance and more plane rides back and forth than I can count, Lyla and I are headed down south full-time.
While Nashville has carved out its own little place in my heart, it’s not easy to leave the city I’ve called home for so many years.
So here’s my love letter to Chicago.
Thank you for bringing all of my favorite people together in one place, for giving me the opportunity to live with two of my best friends, have jobs that I actually liked where I met friends that will last long after I’m gone, and for being the home to my new niece, the single greatest gift in my life.
Thank you for being the backdrop to my first marathon and for being the place where I’ve logged hundreds of miles over the years. Thank you for not running out of champagne when we consumed too many bottles to count on more than a few occasions. For introducing me to my banjo-playing boyfriend and favorite human. For the countless festivals, brunches, nights out, mornings after, Sunday dinners in the ‘burbs, walks with Lyla down the lake and so, so much more. It won’t be easy to leave, but it helps knowing that I’ll always have Chicago to come home to.
So cheers to the next chapter! And stay tuned for even more updates with my Nashville favorites (check out a few of them here). The best is yet to come!
