It’s finally getting warmer in Chicago! Which means one thing: romper season is almost here.
Rompers are hands down the easiest, most versatile summer wardrobe staples. It’s so easy to throw on one piece and look totally put together with zero effort. And when you’re going from a late brunch/lunch on a patio to nighttime drinks on a rooftop, a romper is the perfect day-to-night outfit. Just throw on some heels and a cool jacket.
This summer, I’m stepping up my romper game and investing in a few fun pieces that I’ll be wearing all summer long.
Here are a few of my favorites.
1. Applied Imagination Romper, The Fifth Label, Revolve, $88
This chic gray romper ties at the neck with straps that wrap around the front and tie at the waist, leaving a small cutout in the back. Perfect for brunch or even a summer wedding, this romper can be dressed up with nude heels and gold jewelry or down with wedges or tan sandals and a topknot.
2. Riri Romper in RoMUntic Rose, Show Me Your MuMu, $136
Nobody does summer dresses and rompers better than Show Me Your MuMu, and the Riri Romper is one that I’ll be wearing all summer long. The ruffled shorts and pretty print make this romper the perfect mix of boho and girly. I loved how YouTuber Meghan Rienks styled it for Coachella, and will likely be using her look as outfit inspo for Lollapalooza.
3. Nothing Like the Wild Romper, MINKPINK, $79
Surprise: another floral romper! These are just such go-tos for me in the spring and summer, and this MINKPINK romper would be so cute for a summer date night or lunch with friends.
4. X Revolve Charmed Romper, Lovers + Friends, $168
This casual-cool romper has a beachy, laid-back vibe that would be equally cute for running around doing errands and lunch or afternoon cocktails with friends. Style it with brown gladiators or flat sandals, or dress it up with a pair of wedges for an effortless daytime look.
5. ASTR Sleeveless Romper, Nordstrom, $64
This V-neck romper is simple and classic, but the bright coral color, subtle ruffles and tie back make it a fun summer piece that you’ll wear over and over again. Pair this with a long gold necklace, like the Stella & Dot Rebel Pendant in gold, and gold stud earrings.
6. Cooper & Ella Esme Print Surplice Romper, Nordstrom, $225
This play on the tie-dye romper trend is just the right amount of print. I love a good short-sleeve romper, and this one definitely fits the bill—plus, it has pockets! It would also be a chic look for Fourth of July weekend that’s super easy to pull together.
