Forget the Two-Buck Chuck. This is the best red wine at Trader Joe’s and it only costs $5.
If we’re talking about What Lindsay Loves, one of those things is wine.
I’ll forever be an orders-Champagne-at-the-bar girl, but I love a good glass of red at home. And, according to science, having a glass of red wine is equivalent to one hour at the gym. So you could also say that drinking red wine is my workout of choice. And this is the best Trader Joe’s wine, specifically the best red wine at Trader Joe’s, hands down.
Even my brother-in-law, who orders $50 bottles of wine online, loves it. And he’s always shook when I take a sip of his most expensive bottles and tell him it doesn’t compare. For real, it’s that good. (Shoutout to my friend Jenna who told me about it a few years ago.)
So here it is: Trader Joe’s Gypsy Chariot Red. AND IT ONLY COSTS $4.99, PEOPLE.
Trader Joe’s describes it as smooth and zesty, “a serious wine for an unbeatable price.” And on the Gypsy Chariot website (yes, this wine has its own website), it’s described as “a memorable mélange of Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and a proprietary red blend that we have promised the gypsy we would never reveal. Think bright aromas and silky flavors of plum and cherry with hints of toasted oak and vanilla.”
It’s basically just a super delicious red blend that’s not too sweet and not too dry, which is probably why everyone loves it.
Now that I don’t live as close to the Trader Joe’s in Nashville anymore (Trader Joe’s, if you’re reading this, please open an East Nashville location), I literally buy it in bulk so I’m always stocked.
Next time you’re at TJ’s, pick up a bottle or two and give it a try. I promise, it’ll become a staple in your home too. Cheers!
